During Year 1 and 2, classes are shared between a partnership of foreign and local teachers. In Year 3 and 4, the majority of the teaching and learning is delivered by the homeroom teacher and the majority of classes take place in the children’s own classroom. At Year 5, teaching is divided among a number of specialist teachers, each with experience and background suitable to the learning objectives. Testing is done through internal standardized tests based off of the British National Curriculum and Edexcel iPrimary Curriculum for all core subjects. At the end of Year 6, students are given the option of sitting the Edexcel International Year 6 Achievement Test. This test is created and marked externally with no input from ALBA staff. This ensures that the testing is objective and progress is on target.
ALBA staff uses a wide range of teaching styles and resources to ensure the student’s interest and learning are maintained. We make close links to our South-East Asian context as much as possible.
